Notice of Intent to Update Open Air Burn By-Law as well as Impose Burn Permit Fee

Take Notice that the Council of the Township of Cramahe will hold a public meeting on Tuesday December 19, 2023 at 4:00pm via Hybrid Format in order to consider adopting a new burn permit fee as well as updating the current Burn By-Law 2013-40.

Purpose and Effect- The Township of Cramahe is proposing to amend the current Burn By-Law 2013-40 to include needed updates with the growth of Cramahe Township as well as adopt permit fees to allow cost recovery of this program.

The following information will be available to the public on the Township’s website www.cramahe.ca or by contacting the Fire Chief Matt Halmasy at: mhalmasy@cramahe.ca via telephone 905-355-1219.

  • The proposed permit fees.
  • The current Burn By-Law 2013-40
  • Draft Proposed Burn By-Law 2023-56
  • Justification report of proposed changes

Any person may attend the public meeting and / or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed changes to the Burn By-Law or Permit Fee adoption.

It is the intent that the new permit fee adoption will be effective as of January 1, 2025.
